Firehouses Across America

John Allen and Gina Morri have a great site showcasing their photographs of firehouses in the US.  Check it out here:

http://www.firehousephotography.com/

They recently redesigned the site and it's looking good.  Their portfolio of photos is impressive.

Looking forward to seeing how their site evolves.

Enjoy-

Milwaukee Firehouses

Mike Legeros has posted photos from his tour of Milwaukee's historic firehouses (current/active and past) over at his excellent blog.  Photos are up on his Flickr site.

Chicago Fire Stations

Browsing Bill Friedrich's photo site on Chicago area fire apparatus (http://dgfd147.smugmug.com/) and the excellent Chicagoareafire Blog (http://chicagoareafire.com/blog/) we're led to the Public Building Commission of Chicago's detailed summaries of the city's fire station projects.  There's a wealth of info on this site including downloads of PDF reports and architect renderings for all the current and past fire station renovation and build projects.  Check it out here.

Click here to view the past projects.  Engine Company 18 has a photo gallery attached and a copy of their grand opening/open house invitation in PDF format.

Welcome to the American Firehouse

Thanks for visiting the American Firehouse site.  You'll find a collection of firehouse and fire station photographs and histories on this site.  Click on the About link in the main menu to learn more about the Web site.  Click on Galleries to start browsing our image galleries and database of firehouse locations.  Pictured to the right here is an image of the York, Pennsylvania Fire/Rescue Station #1 (REX).

Eventually we'll be curating collections of user submitted fire station and firehouse photos in the hopes of building one of the largest fire station photo repositories on the Web.  The U.S. Fire Administration shows that there are estimated to be over 52,000 fire stations in the United States alone.  We hope to gather photos and data on as many of these stations as possible and post data by city, state, and zip code and allow site visitors to search for this data.

Note: All main content photos (and rotating images on home page) on the site currently are taken and owned by Trevor James.  Trevor owns all rights to these photographs.
